JAKARTA - The CLIMATE Fest was successfully held at the Bere World, Bali last weekend. This event is a continuation of the workshop last July, as well as the moment of the release of the album sonic/panic Vol. 2 featuring 15 musicians from various parts of Indonesia, who together voiced the urgency of the climate crisis and invited listeners to act to protect the earth.
I Gede Robi Supriyanto, one of the CLIMATE initiators, said that the power of music is the right medium to make changes.
"Music is powerful. To make changes, we have to touch people's hearts, and art is the most effective medium for that. Environmental issues are an important issue to talk about. If we as people don't talk, the government will not listen and will not raise this issue in public policy," said Robi through a press release received by VOI, Thursday, November 14.
Cholil Mahmud from the Greenhouse Effect who took part in this project said the workshop held by the previous IKLIM was part of the process of working on the newly launched album.
Before working on the album, we participated in a material deepening workshop. This is what distinguishes sonic/panic Vol.2 from similar compilations we have participated in before," said Cholil.

"This workshop provides an opportunity for musicians who don't really understand the issue but are aware of the importance of learning more deeply, and for those who already understand, to update information and strengthen their understanding," he continued.
For musicians involved, sonic / panic Vol. 2 is not just a work process, but a journey to understand the real impacts of climate change.
LAS vocalist! (the Pontianak alternative rock band), Bob Gloriaus also shared his experience of traveling to remote areas in West Kalimantan with Trend Asia. There, he witnessed firsthand the negative impact caused by mining company activities on the local environment.
"We are witnessing how traditional forests that are the source of life for traditional people are destroyed because of energy projects that should be environmentally friendly. This gives us deep reflection and inspires the songs we created for this album," said Bob.
This collaboration also wants to foster a sense of shared responsibility in protecting nature.
" Moving alone often feels like hopeless. But moving together, we can achieve more. In protecting the earth, we have to move together," said Asteriska, one of the singers involved in the album.
Regarding the possibility of the Fest CLIMATE being held in another location, Asteriska emphasized that this event could be carried out anywhere, provided that there is support from event organizers who can create environmentally friendly festivals.
