JAKARTA - Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran was willing to engage in nuclear negotiations in accordance with the previous agreement, but stressed that the level of cooperation would depend on the commitment of the other parties involved and without pressure.

Foreign Minister Araghchi delivered the statement after a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi in Tehran on Thursday.

Drawing his talks with Grossi as constructive, the Iran's top diplomat said Tehran was ready to continue working with the IAEA, relying on commitment and collaboration from other parties.

"We are involved in constructive discussions, clarifying our line of cooperation with the agency for the coming year, which is very important to Iran's nuclear issues," Foreign Minister Araghchi said, launching IRNA November 14.

"I told Grossi that Iran is open to nuclear negotiations and collaboration in accordance with previous agreements, but to what extent this cooperation will rely on the seriousness of other parties," he continued.

Iran has upheld its JCPOA commitment with good faith, while others withdrew from the agreement, Foreign Minister Aragghchi said.

According to Foreign Minister Araghchi, Iran's negotiations aim to build a new approach to ease tensions with the agency and other parties, he further noted.

He further said the hope of a recent discussion would help ease tensions and reach reasonable solutions before the situation escalated.

He underlined that the main direction of collaboration will be guided by the IAEA and Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, with technical steps agreed there and political consensus to start a new path.

Foreign Minister Araghchi stressed that the only viable solution to existing problems is through negotiations, especially given the regional and global context, including Donald Trump's victory in the United States presidential election.

The confrontational approach has been tried before, resulting in no positive results, he said, adding confrontation was unproductive to all parties.

"We must work on cooperation, and we are ready to collaborate. We hope that other parties will adopt a wise strategy," he continued.

Grossi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday evening and was greeted by Behrouuz Kamalvandi, spokesman for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI).

After his meeting with Grossi, Foreign Minister Aragghchi in uploads on social media X emphasized Iran's commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its ongoing cooperation with the IAEA.

"As a committed NPT member, we continue our full cooperation with the IAEA. Differences can be resolved through cooperation and dialogue. We agree to continue with courage and good intentions," he said.

The Iran top diplomat pointed out that Tehran had never left the negotiating table regarding its peaceful nuclear program, signaling readiness to engage in discussions aimed at resolving unresolved issues.

"The ball is in the hands of the European Union/E3," he said, adding that Iran was "not ready to negotiate under pressure and intimidation."
