Vice President Hopes That The Presidential Election Lawsuit Session At The Constitutional Court Will Run Well Without Gathering Divisions In The Community

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that all the dynamics that occur in the trial of the general election dispute at the Constitutional Court (MK) will continue to run well and not cause divisions in society.

This was conveyed by the Vice President in his remarks at the iftar with reporters at the Vice President's official residence in Jakarta, Monday, April 1.

"That there are dynamics like the current Constitutional Court trial, we hope that this will run well according to the constitution, but it will not cause public division," hoped the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA.

He said that if you look at the current condition of the election dispute in the Constitutional Court, the condition is better than the election dispute in the Constitutional Court in the previous election.

According to the Vice President in the 2019 election, the election lawsuit in the Constitutional Court was marked by quite a worrying demonstration.

"But now I see the heat in the trial, but there is no turmoil outside the trial," he explained.

The Vice President considered this to be due to a better understanding of society, which allowed election problems to be resolved through the rules in accordance with the constitution.

"This is certainly also a blessing from the media, in providing understanding to the public," he said.

The Vice President emphasized that for himself personally, whoever wins the election will not be a problem. The most important thing is that things don't happen that are not in accordance with democracy.

"The important thing is that there is no discrepancy in the sense of democracy. That's all. And if that happens, we have provided (owning) the channel and that's what is happening now (in the Constitutional Court). That there are these debates, I think it is part of the dynamics of our national politics which is an important historical record," he explained.

He hopes that the current conducive situation will continue until the end of his reign with President Joko Widodo.

"I hope this situation continues until the end of my term of office, and Pak Jokowi together," hoped the Vice President.
