JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (Wamen ATR/Waka BPN) Raja Juli Antoni revealed that waqf land certification has a noble purpose, namely maintaining the charity of the waqf or waqf.

"We believe that the land donated is part of a charity that never gets cut off until the afterlife. Therefore, giving this certificate means that we are also devoted to our ancestors because the charity that has been donated can continue to be a charity that never breaks," said Raja Juli Antoni as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 29.

Based on research from the World Giving Index, Indonesia is the most generous country in the world.

According to Raja Juli Antoni, this can be achieved because the religious understanding that teaches generosity is closely related to society.

Driven by the desire to maintain the spirit of community activities, the government is trying to accelerate the issuance of waqf land certificates.

This commitment was realized through the declaration of the National Movement for Certification of Houses of Worship and Islamic Boarding Schools which was initiated in 2023.

As evidence of this commitment, the Ministry of ATR/BPN has succeeded in producing 2,534 waqf land certificates in one year. This acceleration will continue to be boosted until all waqf land in Indonesia has been registered.

"I urge you, ladies and gentlemen, if there is a madrasah, pesantren, whatever waqf land is still around you, you can coordinate with the village head and the entire network below. If the waqf land does not have a certificate, contact the Head of the Land Office, God willing, it will be free and finally we will give all waqf land," said Raja Juli Antoni.

For information, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (Wamen ATR/Waka BPN) Raja Juli Antoni handed over 15 waqf land certificates in Lamongan Regency, East Java.
