Gibran Responds To The Demand For Disqualification: The Mechanism Already Exists

JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) will hold the inaugural trial for the 2024 election results dispute (PHPU) on Wednesday 27 March. In the lawsuit, the AMIN national team asked the Prabowo-Gibran pair to be disqualified and re-voting was held.

Responding to this, the elected vice president for the 2024-2029 period, Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that parties who have dissatisfaction can file a lawsuit according to the existing mechanism.

"Just go through the process, if there are things that are not pleasing, the mechanism will already exist. Please, our team has also prepared advocates," said Gibran Tuesday, March 26.

Previously, the legal team for candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) filed several demands in the petitum for the dispute over the 2024 Presidential Election Results (PHPU) case submitted to the Constitutional Court (MK), which essentially asked Gibrandi to be disqualified until the re-election.

Reporting from the official website of the Constitutional Court quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 26, the application has been registered with registration number 1/PHPU.PRES-XXII/2024 with the Indonesian KPU as the respondent.

The first charge put forward is to declare the cancellation of KPU Decree Number 360 of 2024 concerning the Determination of the General Election Results of the President and Vice President, Members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representative Council, Provincial Regional House of Representatives, and National Regional House of Representatives/City.

"In the 2024 General Election which is set for Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 22:19 WIB throughout the first dictum," the petition reads.

The second demand is to declare the disqualification of candidate for vice president number two on behalf of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a participant in the 2024 presidential election because he does not meet the age requirements as a candidate pair for the 2024 presidential election.

It is known that the KPU has determined the results of the 2024 General Election, Wednesday (20/3/2024). Pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were declared to have won the 2024 presidential election and won 96,214,691 votes or 58.83%.

Meanwhile, pair number 1 Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar won 40,971,906 votes or 25.05%, while pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD won 27,040,878 votes or 16.53%.
