JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has issued an ultimatum for businessman Hanan Supangkat to fulfill a recall that will soon be carried out as a witness in the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) money laundering case Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Hanan should have been questioned on Wednesday, March 20. However, he did not fulfill the investigator's summons for no apparent reason.

"The investigative team will immediately reschedule and the KPK reminds them to be cooperative in attending," Ali said in a written statement quoted on Friday, March 22.

This warning was also conveyed by Ali because Hanan was actually summoned on March 12. However, he was not present at that time because he admitted to being sick and was being treated at the hospital.

As for this examination, investigators will ask for information regarding several things. Among them is the finding of Rp. 15 billion in his house when a forced search was carried out.

Previously reported, KPK investigators found tens of billions of rupiah in Hanan's house, which is the boss of PT Mulia Knitting Factory and former Chairman of the Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia (FOCI) during a search on Wednesday, March 6.

Then, there were also several documents related to the Syahrul money laundering case at that time.

Hanan has also been examined by investigators as a witness on Friday, March 1. At that time, he was investigated about the communication made with Syahrul Yasin Limpo and the project at the Ministry of Agriculture.

This process was carried out after the anti-corruption commission developed a case of extortion and gratification that ensnared Syahrul Yasin Limpo. The allegation is currently being tried at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN).

In the case of extortion and gratification, Syahrul was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion in the 2020-2023 period. This action was carried out together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.

This money was then used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. Then, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 M from January 2020 to October 2023.
