Police Say Four Victims Who Fell From Apartments In North Jakarta Have Prepared Suicide

JAKARTA - The Head of the Penjaringan Metro Police, Kompol Agus Ady Wijaya, said the four victims who jumped from the 22nd floor of the Teluk Intan Apartment, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, had prepared to commit suicide.

"This preparation can be seen from their movements on CCTV before committing suicide," said the Head of the Penjaringan Metro Police, Kompol Agus Ady Wijaya, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, as reported by Antara.

Agus further said that from the monitoring camera footage, the four victims were a family consisting of a man with the initials AE and his wife AIL and their two children, one man with the initials JWA (13) and JL (16).

They came to the Teluk Intan Apartment at around 16.20 WIB using a Grandmax B 2962 BIQ.

The four then entered the lobby and went straight to the elevator. While in the elevator, AE kissed his wife AIL's forehead who collected all the victim's cell phones into his bag.

After getting out of the elevator, they climbed the emergency ladder and arrived at the rooftop and jumped.

"From our movements, we conclude that this is a suicide that has been prepared together," he said.

Kompol Agus Ady revealed that this family did live in the room in the apartment, but for the last two years they had not lived there.

"The initial conclusion was that the victim's motive was suicide and we carried out further investigations," he said

Meanwhile, Commissioner Agus Ady said the four victims suffered serious injuries to the head and were broken all over their bodies.

The four bodies have been taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for a post-mortem et referum.

"We also secured witnesses for further questioning," he said.

Previously, it was informed that four people died after jumping from the 22nd floor of the Teluk Intan Tower Topas Apartment, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, afternoon.

"The four victims allegedly jumped from the roof of the apartment top," said Commissioner Agus Ady Wijaya.

The four victims were a man with the initials EA (50), a woman with the initials AIL and two teenage boys with the initials JWA (13) and a teenage girl with the initials JL (16).

The bodies of the four victims were then found by security officers guarding the apartment lobby.

The officer heard a loud bang and immediately approached and saw four bodies lying on their backs. The officer then immediately reported to the police.
