BATAM - The Batam Concession Agency (BP), Riau Islands, said that land acquisition for the construction of new residential areas for Rempang residents in Tanjung Banon, Galang, Batam City has reached 90 percent.

Head of the Public Relations Bureau for Promotion and Protocol of BP Batam Ariastuty Sirait said the people working on the 39 land parcels had agreed and voluntarily handed over their land for the construction of new housing for the people affected by the Rempang Eco City project.

He explained that BP Batam built 961 new residences for people affected by the development of Rempang Eco-City, which is targeted to start construction in early April 2024.

Not only BP Batam, the Ministry of PUPR will also start land maturation and construction of social facilities as well as public facilities in the community's new residential area in mid-March.

"From the delineation of the shift area of 93.87 hectares, there are 45 parcels of land that have been cultivated by residents. From the area of land, 90.73 percent or an area of 85.17 hectares have voluntarily released their land to the government," he said.

He continued that 85.17 hectares of land consisting of 39 parcels and the community working on the land had voluntarily agreed and agreed on the sago of the hearts given, in accordance with applicable regulations.

"They will receive sago hearts for replacing land, buildings and growing plants," he said.

All buildings to plants that grow will be calculated by the Public Appraisal Service Office (KJPP) and in accordance with the NJOP which has been agreed upon by all the Riau Islands FKPD and the Batam City FKPD.

"Every citizen who has agreed, we will immediately facilitate the opening of an account and complete the sago hat administration that will be received," said Ariastuty.

The Batam City Integrated Team consisting of elements of the Batam City Government, BP Batam, TNI, Polri and the Prosecutor's Office has sent the 2nd Warning Letter (SP) to land cultivators in Tanjung Banon, last Monday (4/3).

When giving SP2, the Integrated Team provides understanding for land cultivators to vacate their cultivated land voluntarily.

"This SP2 is a series of preparations for controlling Tanjung Banon land. Furthermore, for the next seven days or on March 13, the Batam City Integrated Team will again send SP3, as a follow-up warning letter from a series of control preparations," said Ariastuty.

"Thank you to the people who have collaborated with the government in supporting this National Strategic Project (PSN). BP Batam will certainly continue to be committed to preparing new housing for residents affected by this PSN," he added.
