Police Check Men Who Do Parkour On Kemayoran Flyover

JAKARTA - The Pademangan Police Team, Jakarta, examined a man whose video went viral when he got off by jumping from an overpass (flyover) in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

A man named Marhaenis Farsa who used to exercise parkour (the art of movement), said that the act of jumping over the Kemayoran flyover aims to improve the ability to pass through obstacles.

"My action was carried out solely because of my love as a parkour practitioner who always tries to improve my ability to overcome obstacles," said Farsa, quoted by Antara, Monday, March 1.

However, after taking this action, he realized he had made a mistake by taking the action in an inappropriate place.

"I am endangering myself and other people as well. That is public facilities, roads, if a car crosses there can be an accident or collision," said Farsa.

He apologized to the public who were disturbed by the extreme action. Farsa also thanked the police for reminding him.

"The action was not for sensation or to show off myself. I hereby apologize profusely for my actions," said Farsa.

"I also express my gratitude to the Pademangan Police who have taken the heart to reprimand me and make me aware so that in the future there will not be a similar incident," he continued.

Meanwhile, Pademangan Police Chief, Police Commissioner Arga Dija Putera, said that the man was arrested at his residence in East Jakarta after members of the Pademangan Police Opsnal conducted an investigation by visiting the place where Marhaenis was carrying out parkour.

After questioning a number of witnesses, the police managed to reveal Marhaenis's identity and place of residence.

The man whose jump video went viral on social media was questioned by the police and then received a warning not to repeat the action again.

In a viral video, one of which is uploaded to the Instagram account @jakut.info, the man jumps over an overpass in the Kemayoran area that connects Lodan Raya Street with Benyamin Sueb Street.

The elevated road belongs to the Pademangan District, North Jakarta.

Marhaenis jumped to the roof of the building across the overpass and then landed on the roof of the old building by rolling over.
