There Are COVID-19 Patients Even Though Vaccinations Already Received, North Sumatera Governor Edy Evaluates Vaccinations

MEDAN - The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi will evaluate the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination.

This was done because people who had been vaccinated were found but were still exposed to COVID-19. From the 148,000 people who have been vaccinated, it is recorded that there are people who have contracted COVID-19.

"Two out of the 148,000 are vaccinated yesterday, including myself, were treated. Even though that person was already vaccinated," said Edy at Adam Malik Hospital, Medan, Monday, March 1.

The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy, said that his party was studying the conditions of the two people who were exposed to the coronavirus.

"Of course there are 2 people who are still exposed. But the percentage is small," he said.

Governor Edy said that nothing could guarantee that someone would be immune to the coronavirus in perpetuity even though they had been given the COVID-19 vaccine.

"There is no immunity that continues to be able to solve the virus problem, God knows even though it has been vaccinated," he said.

Therefore, Edy asked the people of North Sumatra to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols. This is because the immune system from vaccines is only temporary.

"It remains an absolute health protocol. Vaccine activity, the immune system is only temporary, to temporarily break it," he said.

The governor, Edy, also explained the reason for not distributing vaccines evenly to 33 districts/cities. Edy argued that his party prioritized the distribution of vaccines to areas where the spread of COVID-19 was still high.

"Because what I have to solve is specifically the cities of Medan, Binjai, and Deli Serdang as a buffer. Later to Simalungun Siantar, that will also have great strength. That is a priority, with this we can reduce and inhibit the movement of this virus," said Edy.
