Not Yet Meeting Megawati, JK: Mrs. Mega Internal Consolidation First

JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) explained that the cause of his meeting with the General Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri after the 2024 General Election had not yet occurred.

Based on the information he received, JK said Megawati was still conducting internal consolidation with party officials.

"Mrs. Mega consolidated first, internally. It's extraordinary. Right, big parties must consolidate," said JK when met at the Kalla Group office, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 6.

The figure, who is close to the presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan, admitted that communication before the meeting remained between his party and the PDIP representative.

"Friends who are implementing always have smooth communication," said the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross.

However, JK emphasized that his meeting with Megawati, if carried out, would not speak in party capacity.

"We only talk nationally about how this country is responsible for what has been in government," he said.

News that Megawati will meet JK was heard after the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party went to the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta and spoke privately with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). It's just that, I don't know when the exact time will be.

PDIP politician Adian Napitupulu said the meeting between PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and the 10th Vice President and 12 RI Jusuf Kalla would occur. He asked all parties to wait for the exact time.

"We'll just hear, we'll follow," Adian told reporters at the TKRPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 23.

"Adian has not yet detailed what will be discussed. It must have happened," he said.

Separately, Anies Baswedan explained that the plan to meet the party chairman to carry Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with JK had been heard for a long time. Anies said that the implementation was just a matter of time.

"As far as I know, it has been planned for a long time. Just waiting for the time," said Anies when met in the Tanjung Priok area, North Jakarta, Friday, March 1.
