LOMBOK - Residents together with the joint TNI-Polri apparatus are trying to save the whales stranded on Pringgabaya Beach, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province. Danramil Pringgebaya Kodim 1615 East Lombok Captain Inf Abdul Wahab said the large whale which was estimated to weigh 300 kilograms was found by local fishermen while stranded on Mbang Mbang Beach, North Pringgabaya Village, on Wednesday at 03.00 WITA. "Currently residents and joint forces are trying to save protected fish, by pulling fish into the middle of the sea," he said in Lombok, Antara, Wednesday, March 6. After receiving this information, his party immediately checked and appealed to the public not to kill the whales because the whales are mammals protected by the government. "This fish is an animal protected by the government," he said. Currently, residents and security forces are trying to push the whales into the middle of the sea using makeshift equipment. "Hopefully this whale will be saved and return to its habitat," he said. For the cause of the stranded whale, his party has not been able to provide a more detailed explanation.

"For the reason we don't know, at this time we are trying to save with related parties," he said.
