Still Having Grudge, Donald Trump Quips The Republican Supporters Of Impeachment

JAKARTA - It seems that the former President of the United States is still unable to get rid of his anger and disappointment regarding Trump's second impeachment attempt some time ago.

This was seen when Trump addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, United States on February 28 local time. Pledged to help Republicans try to regain control of the US House and Senate by elections in 2022 while naming the 2024 presidential seat for Republicans.

"With your help, we will reclaim the House of Representatives, we will win the Senate and then the president of the Republic will return triumphantly to the White House. I wonder who is it?", Donald Trump with a smile, reported by Reuters.

Nevertheless, Donald Trump is implied to be still angry and resentful with Republican Senators, who support to prosecute or punish him in an attempted impeachment related to the riots on Capitol Hill, Washington DC on January 6.

He chose the names of several Republicans such as Senators Mitt Romney and Pat Toomey and lawmakers Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, citing support for those who oppose (impeachment) and remove impeachment supporters.

"Get rid of them all", he thundered.

Trump also claims the Republican Party is solid and united behind him while calling some of the party's internal opposition "Washington DC handfuls" and political hacking. This refers to Senate Minority Leader who is also senior Republican Mitch McConnell.

Senator Mitch McConnell recently called Trump morally and practically responsible for the Capitol Hill riots. However, in voting, he refused impeachment, on the pretext that impeachment was only for active officials.

As previously reported, there were four names of Republicans who initially supported impeachment when they were just rolled out of the US House of Representatives. They are Liz Cheney, John Katko, Adam Kinzinger, and Fred Upton.

At the vote in the US House of Representatives, those who supported impeachment from Republicans grew to 10, consisting of Liz Cheney, Anthony Gonzalez, Peter Meijer, Dan Newhouse, David Valadao, Tom Rice, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Fred Upton, and John Katko.

In the attempted impeachment motion, five Republicans have backed up to indict Trump. They are Mitt Romney, Sen Sasse, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Pat Toomey from the US Senate.

During the second motion attempt on February 9, there were 6 Republicans who supported his impeachment, namely Ben Sasse, Bill Cassidy, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Pat Toomey, and Susan Collins.

And, at the US Senate hearing on February 13, seven Republican politicians supported the impeachment, they are Mitt Romney, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Ben Sasse, Pat Toomey, and Lisa Murkowski.
