Arrested For Shooting Case, Gathan Saleh Hilabi Charged With Heavy Articles

The East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) managed to apprehend Gathan Saleh Hilabi, the perpetrator of a sporadic shooting of a young man in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta.

"The perpetrator has been arrested. I want to press release this morning. The full information will be later. Members are still working," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, February 29.

The shooting case has been reported by victim AM (32) at the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the East Jakarta Metro Police registered with the number STLP/B/416/II/2024/POLRES METRO JAKTIM/POLDA METRO JAYA.

Based on the report, Gathan was applied to Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning Murder and or Article 53 of the Criminal Code concerning Trials of Criminal Acts. And or Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 concerning who without the right to include, own and use firearms or explosives.

Previously, it was reported that the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) was still pursuing the shooter with the initials G, who was known to be the ex-husband of two artists.

"Yes (the perpetrator is still being chased by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit)," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Nicolasary Lilipaly when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, February 27.

Currently, investigators have confiscated a number of evidence related to the shooting case that occurred in the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta.

"There was CCTV that was confiscated, the bullet casing was confiscated, the bullet was also confiscated. One bullet was obtained at the crime scene," he said.

A firearm shooting took place in an office on Jalan Jatinegara Timur, Bali Mester, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

According to eyewitnesses to the incident, Andika Mowardi (32) said that he almost became a victim of the shooting when the incident occurred. The shooter with the initials G, who is the ex-husband of the artist. The incident occurred last Thursday, February 8, 2024.

At that time he ran into the perpetrator in the office parking area. The perpetrator then chased the victim and tried to shoot him. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras at the scene.

The perpetrator who confronted the victim then fired a firearm and chased the victim who ran into his shop house.

"I have known the perpetrator for a long time, I happen to be friends. I don't know what problem he (G) suddenly shot at me three times," Andika told reporters, Monday, February 24.
