The Suspect Of Extortion Of The KPK Detention Center Will Be Announced After The Administrative Process Is Completed

JAKARTA - Allegations of illegal levies at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Detention Center (Rutan) will be thoroughly investigated. Investigation will be carried out but waiting for the administrative process to be completed.

This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, who said that the title of the case had been carried out. The final decision taken is that the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK will thoroughly investigate the perpetrators.

"In parallel, the KPK is also handling allegations of corruption (extortion in detention centers, ed) through the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution," Ali said in a written statement, Monday, February 26.

Until now, the KPK has not announced the suspects in the alleged extortion.

"The stage of the completion of the administrative investigation is first (implemented, red) and then the KPK officially announces it," said Ali.

As previously reported, 90 employees were declared to have violated ethics. Of that number, 78 employees were sanctioned in the form of publicly apologizing before the leadership to the Secretary General of the KPK on Monday, February 26.

"I hereby convey an apology to the Corruption Eradication Commission and/or KPK personnel for violating the code of ethics and code of conduct that I have carried out," said one employee representative who was decided to violate ethics at the KPK Support Building, Monday, February 26.

"In the form of abuse of office and/or authority, including abusing the influence as a member of the commission, both in carrying out duties and personal interests and/or groups," he continued.

While the other 12 were handed over to the KPK Inspectorate because they participated in extortion practices before the Supervisory Board was formed.

Not only that, the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK is currently investigating this case. A total of more than 10 suspects have been named in the alleged extortion.
