PRAYA - Central Lombok Transportation Service (Dishub), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) said the operational permit for the floating dock of fast ships in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) has been proposed to the Ministry of Transportation.

"The third party has proposed cooperation with the regional government, so currently it is just waiting for operational permits to use the dock for the process of leaning fast boats," said Head of the Central Lombok Regency Transportation Agency Lalu Herdan as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 24.

Currently, the local government has communicated with third parties who will bring a fast boat from Bali to dock at the floating dock in KEKMandalika.

"There has been an agreement with third parties, just waiting for the operational permit," he said.

With this cooperation, in the future the local government will provide support in the form of improving supporting facilities and infrastructure around this floating dock.

"We will coordinate with several parties regarding what we can support and fulfill for operational purposes at this floating dock," he said.

Herdan stated that he could not explain in detail the number of fast boats leaning on the floating dock. However, his party ensures that when it is operational, it will be useful in increasing tourist visits to Mandalika.

"The number of ships using this dock depends on the permit from the KSOP (Kesyahbandaran and Pelabuhan Authority) Liembar," he said.

The Regent of Central Lombok Then Pathul Bahri said the existence of fast boats in Mandalika had a positive impact on tourist visits. It's just that, he said, the problem regarding licensing has stopped this crossing activity.

However, the company is currently processing permits to the central government to resume activities.

"The fast boat permit that has been leaning at the floating dock is being taken care of so that the crossing from Bali to the Mandalika SEZ can enter," he said. The operation of the fast boat has a big impact on tourism, especially tourists from Bali to Lombok does not take long. The fast boat brings enough passengers to increase tourist visits to the area. "With this fast boat, it will certainly move the economy of the residents because many tourists will come in Lombok," he said.
