Medan Mayor, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution said the Medan Zoo or Medan Zoo had failed to breed tigers, both Sumatran and Bengal tigers in recent years. "The Medan Zoo failed in braking. So far there are five dead tigers at the Medan Zoo, namely three Sumatran tigers named Erha on November 3, 2023, Nurhaliza on December 31, 2023, and 13-year-old Bintang Sorik on February 13, 2024. Then two Bengal tigers named Avatar on December 3, 2023 and Wesa who were around 19 years old on January 22, 2024. The mayor emphasized that tigers at the Medan Zoo should not die, because every living creature will definitely die. "My life must be dead. The point is that he died, but no one has had time to give up. During the zoo, no one can die," explained Bobby. He also asked stakeholders to jointly look at all the factors for the deaths of five tigers in the last four months at the Medan Zoo.
