CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, bears the cost of treating babies for 3 months with malnutrition, residents of Cileungsi Village, Sukajaya Village, Cugenang District. The baby is currently undergoing treatment at the Cianjur Sayang Hospital. Head of the Cianjur Health Office, Dr. Yusman Faisal, said that puskesmas officers were asked to monitor the whereabouts of babies with malnutrition on behalf of Nesya Aulia and immediately take her to a government-owned hospital. "It has been seven days of hospitalization, the cause of the baby being born premature so that the nutritional intake from breast milk is not fully absorbed," he said in Cianjur, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 15. Since the last seven days, he said, babies accompanied by their parents have received maximum medical treatment by being given special nutritional intake. His weight starts to rise. "We will continue to monitor his condition through local health workers even though later he will be allowed to return home after his weight returns to normal according to the monitoring of health workers," he said. Previously, Nesya, the fifth child of Siti Nurhayati (43) and Ukat Hidayat (45), who was born on November 19, 2023, experienced malnutrition with a bulging stomach, thin arms and legs and even sensitive skin, looked wrinkled. When born, the premature baby weighs about 3.5 kilograms. However, when his parents brought him to Posyandu, his weight fell to only 2.5 kilograms, causing Siti to panic because her child had been breastfed since he was born. "Since birth my child has always received breast milk, but after three months when I took him to Posyandu it actually weighed down, even his stomach became distended so I forced myself to take him to the hospital even though I didn't have BPJS," he said.

Siti hopes that her daughter can recover and grow normally like other children. "I hope my son recovers quickly and returns home soon because we family can't afford to stay at the hospital for long," he said.
