Sumatran Tiger Muncul Di Jalan Lintas Barat Krui

The West PESIsir - Bengkulu-Lampung Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) confirmed the appearance of a Sumatran tiger on the West Tanggamus-Krui Pesisir Barat road which was caught on camera by residents.

Previously, it was widely circulated on social media the appearance of a Sumatran tiger on the west highway, precisely on the west crossing, Pekon (Village) Pemihan, Bengkunat District, West Coast Regency.

"We have confirmed the source of the video, through the Head of the BBTNBBS Demolition Resort, that the location is not in Sedayu like the narrative in the video, but the appearance of the tiger on Jalan Lintas Barat Sanggi Bengkunat Pemihan," said Irhamuddin, a Public Relations officer of the Bengkulu BKSDA SKW III Lampung, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 10.

Due to the appearance of the Sumatran tiger, his party will carry out mitigation and will handle the wild animal appropriately.

"Regarding the video circulating, of course the Bengkulu BKSDA through SKW III Lampung will carry out mitigation related to the appearance of the tiger," he said.

Currently, according to him, the BKSDA will wait for further information and will coordinate with the team on the ground to take mitigation steps.

"We are still waiting for information on developments from the team in the field, then further mitigation steps will be taken for Sumatran tiger animals," he said.

However, his party confirmed that the victim was attacked by a tiger in Suoh District, West Lampung Regency, which occurred on Thursday (08/02/24) not by tigers that were monitored by residents' cameras.

"Sumatran tiger victims that occurred in Suwoh, we can confirm different individuals," he said.
