PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was criticized by Andi Arief regarding the statement regarding the voices of academics on campus as a moral call ahead of the 2024 General Election. The chairman of the Bappilu Democratic Party asked Hasto not to complain about the voices of campuses and the people.
"Don't compete between campuses and the people. Don't clash between the professor forum and the people whose political mood wants the voting on February 14.
"It's not that easy Hasto!!," Andi Arief was quoted as saying in a tweet on the X account, @Andiarief, Tuesday, February 6.
According to Andi, the voting day on February 14 is the agenda of this country, people, party and nation. All parties including the professors must participate in the success.
"The fear of the Professor's Forum etc. about cheating is not only on paper that heats up the situation. It is better to go to the field together when the election ensures a jurdil at the TPS,"
"The current situation put forward by various professor forums - is a state that the state and all components of the nation including the professors themselves have shares - all must accept it, and we will rise again after February 14th. Don't cry!!," said Andi.
Previously, a number of academics at universities continued to voice criticism of democratic practices in Indonesia. Initially, UGM voiced a petition through the UGM Bulaksuram Petition on January 31. This petition was covered by a number of professors in other campus academics.
Secretary General Hasto denied that the petition of the academics was driven by PDIP. According to him, the wave of criticism is purely a voice from the public. The accusation against PDIP being involved in it is tantamount to dwarfing the authority and independence of the campus.
"We have no interest in mobilizing it. Karana is tantamount to dwarfing the authority of a university that is so independent," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP office, Monday, January 5.
The Bulaksumur petition movement on the UGM Campus is also a concern for netizens. There are allegations that the campus is politicized and used as a tool by certain political parties in order to gain electability. One of those who tweeted about partiality was uploaded to the @G4b0nGOKU account which shared a post-demonstration photo on February 2, 2024.
"FURTHERMORE, MAS, LET'S Report... Behind THE PETITION UGM CLAIMS TO USE THE NAME UGM, THOSE ARE A handful OF activists in the Center for Pancasila Studies affiliated with PDIP. THERE IS A THREE-JARI GREETING, ANOTHER one is wearing a batik shirt (Bambang Praswanto), the former chairman of the DPD PDIP DIY. LET'S TAKE IT DOWN AGAIN, MAS," wrote the account @G4b0nGOKU.
