Ganjar Pranowo Proposes KH Syaikhuna Badruzzaman To Be A National Hero

GARUT - Candidate for president number 3 Ganjar Pranowo proposed a great cleric figure as well as fighter KH Syaikhuna Badruzzaman to become a national hero. "Earlier it was conveyed after I read the history of Kiai Badruzzaman as a fighter. So, it was conveyed earlier, Mr. Ganjar, that he had been proposed to be a hero but had not passed," said Ganjar at the Zawiyah Tarekat Al-Tijaniyah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Garut Regency, West Java, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 6. KH Syaikhuna Badruzzaman lived between 1900 and 1972, which meant living in the Dutch colonial era, Japanese colonialism, and the independence period of the Republic of Indonesia. In a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, Ganjar assessed that the cleric had a big role in fighting the injustice of the invaders, both the Netherlands and Japan, through the Hezbollah forces he formed. He also fought for Indonesia's independence through calwat and hijrah tactics. Ganjar expressed his admiration for KH Badruzzaman's struggle as a scholar as well as a fighter for the sake of religion, nation, and state of Indonesia. "We pray, we prepare, God willing, we can qualify (to become a national hero). If it is already running, then it will not be too difficult because when I was governor (Central Java) it is also not too difficult," said Ganjar. If all verification processes can be carried out, then KH Badruzzaman can be immediately designated as a national hero. "The important thing is that all processes are carried out, the verification is good. So, God willing, it will not be difficult," he said. KH Badruzzaman is also a figure who spreads the Al-Tijaniyah tarekat which has tens of thousands of followers in many areas. Until now, the tomb of KH Syaikhuna Badruzzaman at the Zawiyah Islamic Boarding School has often been visited by pilgrims from all regions in Indonesia. The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The campaign period for the 2024 presidential election will take place from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
