Idham said the disclosure of the case began with public reports in the Sleman Regency area.

The police then arrested AR, GR, and PD and took them to the DIY Police Ditreskrimsus for further investigation.

After being collected, they moved the contents of two subsidized 3 kg LPG which were purchased for Rp. 19 thousand each to an elliptic tube of 5.5 kg and then sold for Rp. 90 thousand and four 3 kg LPG to a 12 kg LPG cylinder and then sold for Rp. 190 thousand.

They made a profit of IDR 40 thousand for each LPG sale of 5.5 kg and IDR 85 thousand for the sale of 12 kg of LPG.

"The average profit is one month between IDR 50 million and IDR 60 million, after running for the last year," he said.

When arresting three suspects, the police also confiscated a number of evidences such as 588 three kilogram LPG cylinders, 51 5.5 kg LPG cylinders, 49 12 kilogram LPG cylinders, and two Suzuki Carry Pick Up cars.

Other evidence confiscated were nine regulator hoses for the transfer of LPG gas, two digital hanging scales, and a digital sitting scale.

The suspects were charged with Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Gas and Earth Oil, as amended by Article 40 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation and Article 62 in conjunction with Article 8 letters b and c of Law Number 8 concerning Consumer Protection with the threat of six years in prison.
