File Delegated, KPK Will Prove Corruption Case Of LNG Purchase Which Loses Rp2.1 Trillion To The State

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission or the KPK has transferred the case file for the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Liquid Natural Gas or LNG for the 2011-2021 period to the Central Jakarta District Court. In that case, former President Director of PT Pertamina Galaila Karen Kardinah alias Karen Agustiawan is a suspect.

"The KPK prosecutor has finished handing over the case files along with the indictment to the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court with the Defendant Galaila Karen Kardinah," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in his statement, Friday, February 2.

The KPK prosecutor team will prove all the charges in the case. One of them was a criminal act of corruption which cost the state US $ 113.8 million or Rp. 2.1 trillion.

Then, regarding the crime of money laundering and or litigating oneself and others.

"The essence of the indictment by the Prosecutor's team includes the defendant's actions of harming state finances amounting to USD113.8 million and also enriching the Defendant by more than IDR 1 billion and USD 104 thousand, including enriching the Corporate Christi Liquefaction LLC of USD113.8 million," he said.

With the delegation of the case file, the authority to detain suspects is no longer with the KPK. Instead, the Corruption Eradication at the Central Jakarta District Court

"The team of prosecutors is ready to reveal the defendant's actions during the agenda for the first trial, namely reading the indictment," said Ali.

Meanwhile, in this case, Karen Agustiawan, who served as President Director of Pertamina for the 2009-2014 period, issued a policy to collaborate with several LNG supplier manufacturers.

Karen unilaterally decided to sign a CCL company agreement without conducting a study to a thorough analysis. In fact, it did not report to the Pertamina Board of Commissioners
