Ordered By Prisoners In Makassar, 3 Methamphetamine Dealers Arrested In Jayapura

JAYAPURA - Police arrested three perpetrators suspected of distributing 60 packages of methamphetamine in Jayapura, Papua. The three have the initials FW (26), MP (45), and AR (31).

"It is true that 3 suspects with the initials FW (26), MP (45) and AR (31) along with 60 packages of evidence wrapped in small clear plastic with a total weight of 64.8 grams, 4 cellphones and 1 small blue bag," said Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen in his statement, Sunday, January 28.

Fredrickus said the three perpetrators were not new players in the drug business. They had previously circulated the illicit goods to the Manokwari region.

He explained that the drug was controlled by a prisoner who was serving a sentence at the Makassar prison.

"For direct control from Makassar by one of the initials A who is currently still serving his sentence," he said.

Regarding the arrest, said Fredrickus, starting with his party receiving information about the circulation of methamphetamine. On that basis, he conducted an investigation and investigation until he was finally arrested by the perpetrator with the initials FW in the Sentani area, Papua, Tuesday, January 23.

"Then the team carried out developments and found 2 other suspects with the initials MP and AR," he said.

Furthermore, the Police Chief explained that it was not only there that the team resumed the development.

Based on AR's confession, he has asked MP to bring the illicit goods from Makassar using airplanes to be circulated in Jayapura City and Regency, the price of the package is IDR 2.5 million.

"AR who ordered the suspect MP to bring the illicit goods from Makassar using an airplane to be circulated in Kota and Kabupaten," he said.

For their actions, the three perpetrators were applied to the suspect and charged with Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
