The National Police Chief Calls The Implementation Of Simultaneous Regional Head Elections Relatively Safe Even Though Must Stay Alert

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections was still relatively safe (Instagram/@listyosigitprabowo).

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the simultaneous 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) was monitored relatively safely. Even so, he appealed to remain vigilant at certain moments.

The statement was made after monitoring the implementation of the Pilkada from the security post together with the TNI Commander and related ministers.

"Everything is still relatively safe monitored," Sigit told reporters, Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

Vigilance must still be applied at the moment of vote counting. Especially in areas that have been mapped or are categorized as vulnerable.

"We remain vigilant, after the results of the calculations later, especially in areas that have indeed been monitored by us related to those with high vulnerabilities at several points that have been issued by Baintelkam and from Bawaslu," he said.

Especially, areas where there are only two candidates in the contestation. This increases the potential for vulnerabilities so that vigilance must still be increased.

"There are several additional two candidate pairs, of course we always call for the Pilkada to run smoothly, safely, and peacefully," said Sigit.
