Polda Metro Coordination With Political Parties Regarding APK Installation

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya said it had coordinated with political parties related to the installation of campaign props or APKs. This is because some billboards or banners of legislative candidates (caleg) are disturbing and even endangering motorists. "We are also coordinating with local party leaders to carry out control," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Friday, January 26. Then, coordination and holding patrols together with the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) and Satpol PP were also carried out. However, APK still continues to emerge that disturbs road users. Therefore, it takes the role of all parties to curb it. "We did the patrol because of this, especially since the rainy weather at night was already on patrol, suddenly in the morning there was an accident," he said. "Well, this is the need for cooperation from all elements, related parties to bring order to this APK," continued Latif. So far, said Latif, his party has set a location that is widely installed by the APK so that it is prone to accidents, one of which is on all flyovers. However, the police cannot immediately take action by lowering or removing the APK which is considered to have disturbed the motorists. Because, it is not the authority of the Police regarding this matter.

Therefore, every police officer holding a patrol related to the existence of the APK, personnel from the Satpol PP and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) will be included. "Well, if the police suddenly take this, it will be counter-productive. So we invite Bawaslu and Satpol PP," said Latif.
