Mahfud MD Wants To Immediately Resign From Jokowi's Minister: TKN Prabowo: Maybe Shame To Be Scored 5 With Ganjar

Deputy Chairperson of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Habiburokhman responded to Mahfud MD's plan to resign from the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in the government Cabinet of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). According to him, Mahfud may be ashamed because he was given a 5 score by his presidential candidate, Ganjar Pranowo.

Habiburokhman was surprised that Mahfud MD intended to resign because he wanted to set an example for other active officials who participated in the 2024 presidential election, in this case aimed at candidate pair number 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Because, said Habiburokhman, the Law allows active ministers to run as presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"In fact, we question, if we think we are resigning as ministers, it is not regulated in the law. Because the law allows active ministers to run as presidential or vice presidential candidates," said Habiburokhman at the Media Center of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Wednesday, January 24.

If Mahfud intends to resign, so that the public's opinion is positive for him, the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR will question his status after being declared by the KPU as a participant in the presidential election. Habiburokhman should have, the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) resigned after the KPU was determined.

"If he thinks that if he resigns, the value is positive rather than not resigning, then the people will judge. Earlier I met the people in East Jakarta, the language of coffee shops 'Please ask Mr. Mahfud if he considers not to resign public officials, a minister becomes a vice presidential candidate or presidential candidate, then what he practiced in 72 days yesterday'. From November 13 to the 72nd day, his status is concurrently as an active minister and as a vice presidential candidate," explained Habiburokhman.

"And if you don't back down until next Sunday, then more days will be filled with something negative," he continued.

In fact, continued Habiburokhman, the campaign only has 22 days left in the process of this election. Therefore, the Deputy Chairperson of Gerindra questioned Mahfud why he only now stated that he wanted to resign from Jokowi's cabinet.

"So there have been a lot of things that have been lived, 75 percent have been implemented, with multiple statuses. Why only now say? Now this is a question from the lower current. Go ahead, Mr. Mahfud answered and the people will judge," he said.

Regarding Mahfud, who said that he was waiting for the right time or timing, Habiburokhman bluntly assessed that the Vice Presidential Candidate number 3 might be ashamed that Ganjar had been given a red report card by his presidential candidate.

"I don't understand, maybe the momentum is whether Mr. Mahfud feels ashamed because as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs is given a score of 5 with Mr. Ganjar Pranowo? It might be like that," said Habiburokhman.

"Or maybe there is another momentum, being humiliated again like that and then resigning, I don't understand," he concluded.
