Anies' Desak Permit Revoked, Prabowo Gibran: Don't Play Victims

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Nusron Wahid suggested that the candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar should conduct an evaluation regarding the cancellation of the "Desak Anies" event permit at the Diponegoro Sasana Wiratama Museum, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday.

Nusron said the Amin (Anies-Muhaimin) camp should be introspective and not play victim or position themselves as victims who are wronged.

"It should be an evaluation, yes, instead of blaming the TNI and positioning themselves as victims," said Nusron in a written statement on Wednesday, January 24.

Nusron highlighted that this is not the first time this has happened. He said Amin's camp had previously tried to use state facilities as campaign locations.

Nusron said the Amin camp's efforts to try to play victim were unethical and could harm the image of the TNI which continues to be blamed.

"Maybe this is also by design, yes, deliberately trapped. Now it is revealed that they use the name of a third party, so the manager doesn't know the museum will be used for campaigns," said Nusron.

On a separate occasion, Deputy Commander of the Legal Team of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Habiburokhman explained that using TNI facilities for campaign activities was a violation of the law.

"Law Number 34 of 2004 (regarding the TNI) has also regulated that the TNI must be neutral, not be practical in politics. This is what Habiburokhman wants to hit," said Habiburokhman in his statement.

"When the TNI enforces the rules, then the TNI is cornered and labeled non-neutral and wrongs certain pairs of candidates. This is an unethical political strategy," he said.
