Taking Place Fast, Strong Winds Damage MSME Tents At MPP Sidoarjo

A number of tents from the exhibition platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the parking area of the Public Service Mall (MPP) Jalan Lingkar Timur Sidoarjo were damaged by strong winds.

Subagio, a local resident, said the strong winds occurred when heavy rains hit the area on Monday, January 15 evening.

"The wind was strong and took place quickly which damaged a number of tents for MSME actors," he said in Sidoarjo, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that not only the tents for MSME actors, the merchandise carts at the location also collapsed in the strong winds.

"There were no victims of the incident," he said.

In addition to strong winds, heavy rains that flushed a number of Sidoarjo areas also caused several roads to be flooded with a height of between 10-20 centimeters.

As happened on Jalan Desa Bluru Kidul, Gading Fajar, Jalan Mojopahit, Jalan Kartini, Sekardangan Village and Rangkah Village, Sidoarjo City District.

Then on Jalan Kartini and Jalan Gading Fajar the water level reached 15 to centimeters. On the road, the puddle is 100 meters long and is often a regular when it rains.

The worst in Bluru Kidul Village and Karah Village with a water level of up to 20 centimeters has forced motorists to slow down the vehicle they drive while passing.

Likewise, on Jalan Mojopahit, floods began in front of the Sidoarjo Hospital to the intersection of Jalan Mojopahit towards Surabaya with a water level of about 15 centimeters which resulted in road congestion.

"The flooding due to heavy rains in Sidoarjo has caused quite a long traffic jam on Jalan Mojopahit," said another resident, Wiyoto.

A similar sentiment was conveyed by Ali, a resident of Sidodadi Village who admitted that he was indeed in the derivative of the flyover to Jalan Gading Fajar, which often flooded after it rained.

"It is certain that the flood on Jalan Gading Fajar after Jalan Layang, usually many motorbikes strike, but this time it is safe, there is none," he said.
