Trying To Escape When You Want To Be Arrested, Specialist Robbery In North Jakarta Gets Shot By Police

JAKARTA - The police arrested one of two perpetrators of the crime of motorcycle theft (curanmor) using a firearm (senpi) in Pademangan, North Jakarta. One perpetrator was arrested with the initials HS, while E managed to escape.

The Head of the Pademangan Police, Kompol Hatorangan Sianturi, explained that the theft carried out by HS and E was carried out on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

The incident started when the victim lost his motorbike when his vehicle was parked in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta. The victim reported the incident to the Pademangan Police.

The police who received the information immediately conducted an investigation. As a result, his party was aware of the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator.

"Leaded by the Criminal Investigation Unit and checking CCTV, 2 men were detected with the initials HS and E," Hatorongan told reporters at the Pademangan Police, North Jakarta, Monday, January 15.

During the arrest process, Hatorongan continued, his party grabbed the perpetrator's motorbike.

The suspect HS fought back by removing a homemade revolver. In order to avoid unwanted incidents, the officers took decisive action measured. Finally, H was secured," he said.

In addition to arresting the perpetrators, his party found evidence in the form of a revolver-type homemade firearm along with 5 9 mm caliber bullets, Letter L keys, and the victim's motorcycle.

"We also secured the victim's motorbike, a gun with bullets and several keys from HS," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pademangan Police, AKP I Gede Gustiyana, said that the perpetrators HS and E had committed 20 motor vehicle thefts.

"Both of them have done it at 20 crime scenes," he said.

He said the rifle brought by the suspect was used to defend himself if the victim caught the action.

"If the suspect is pressed, the suspect will not hesitate to take out a firearm. Like when he was in action in Pluit," he said.

For the homemade firearm, it belongs to suspect E, which was purchased in Jabung area, East Lampung for IDR 3.5 million.

"The coffee was bought in East Lampung," he said.

As a result of his actions, suspect HS was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 5 years in prison and Article 1 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a maximum threat of 20 years in prison.
