JAKARTA - Apple has updated its web version of Apple Maps by adding support for the Look Around feature, which is similar to Google Street View. This feature allows users to see high-resolution views at the road level, including restaurants, retail locations, landmarks, roads, and various other interesting points.

The Look Around feature was previously available on iOS devices for a long time. Now, support on the web version allows non-Apple users to experience this experience through browsers such as Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on Mac, iPad, or Windows PCs.

Apple started implementing this support since December 11. Currently, this feature is available in several major cities in the United States and other countries such as Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Portugal, Spain, Singapore and the United Kingdom. A complete list of supported locations can be found on Apple's official website.

In August, Apple indicated that it was working to expand the reach of the Look Around feature to rural areas and new countries, such as Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, China, Belarus, Turkey, Bulgaria, Mexico and Slovakia. However, this expansion has not been realized to date.

The web version of Apple Maps offers similar functions to its original apps, including:

With this update, the Apple Maps web version can be an alternative for users looking for map services other than Google Maps. Even so, this feature is still in the beta stage and will continue to be developed.
