Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte Mentioned Responsibility For The Elimination Of Joko Tjandra's Name At The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights

JAKARTA - Former Head of International Relations Division (Hubinter) of the National Police, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte, said that the party responsible for removing Joko Tjandra's name from the Enhanced Cekal System (ECS) system was the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Because, the authority regarding the matter is not from his side.

This statement was conveyed by Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte when reading out his defense or pledoi on the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU) with three years imprisonment in the case of alleged bribery removing Joko Tjandra's red notice.

"That the removal of Joko Soegiarto Tjandra's name in the ECS system is under the authority of the Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights or the Director-General of Immigration. So it is not the defendant's responsibility because the defendant does not have that authority," Napoleon said at the hearing, Monday, February 22.

So, on that basis, the responsibility for the removal of Joko Tjandra's name cannot be immediately transferred to the Indonesian Police Divhubinter. Moreover, only by referring to the letter published from the Police Divhubinter to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"The responsibility cannot be delegated to Divhubinter or NCB Interpol Indonesia based on the 3 letters of NCB Interpol Indonesia," he said.

For information, in this case, Inspector General Napoleon is said to have accepted bribes from Joko Tjandra. The bribe was intended to remove Joko Tjandra's name from the red notice list.

When receiving the bribe, Inspector General Napoleon was still the Head of the International Relations Division (Hubinter) of the National Police. He is said to have received 200 thousand Singapore dollars and 370 thousand US dollars from Tommy Sumardi.

Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte was charged with accepting bribes together with Brigadier General Prasetijo, who at that time served as Head of the PPNS Police Supervisory Coordinator Bureau (Karo Korwas). However, in the charge, Brigadier General Prasetijo is said to have received 100 thousand US dollars.
