Anies Still Collects Prabowo's Answer On Ethics: If You Can't Take It And Don't Blame The Pen

GORONTALO - Presidential candidate number one Anies Baswedan assessed that the Indonesian people needed answers from presidential candidate number two Prabowo Subianto regarding the issue of high standards of leader ethics.

Anies emphasized that this question must be answered because the leaders of the country and leaders in the defense sector must have high ethical standards.

"If you can't answer and can't answer, don't blame the pen," said Anies during a campaign visit in Gorontalo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 8.

According to Anies, the question could have been asked by anyone, because Prabowo's answer was not only needed by him personally.

"Just like I was asked by my media friends, did I prohibit the media from asking questions? Just answer it," he said.

Anies explained that during the debate he asked a number of facts in the last five years, one of which was ethical issues related to violations that occurred in the Constitutional Court.

"In the middle of the trip, what will happen? That's why when talking about ethics, not just 'oh yes, I will adhere to high ethical standards', but there are reality problems here," he said.

In the presidential candidate debate, Anies asked Prabowo about insiders in the procurement of the main defense system equipment (alutsista), to the ethical violations that occurred at the Constitutional Court.

Meanwhile, Prabowo considered Anies' question to be wrong and misleading. In addition, the Minister of Defense also considered that Anies was not interested in talking about ethics because he set an example that was not good about ethics.
