KPK Cecar Boss Prambors Radio Regarding Procurement At The Ministry Of Agriculture Involves SYL Family

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that Syahrul Yasin Limpo's family intervened in the procurement project at the Ministry of Agriculture. This allegation was investigated by the General Media (GM) of Prambors Media or PT Bayureksa, Dirgaya S Santo on Friday, January 5 yesterday.

"Located at the KPK's Red and White Building, the investigative team (has, ed) carried out an investigation," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement quoted on Monday, January 8.

It has not been detailed what procurement project involved the family of the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan). However, there are contractors who are suspected of being unilaterally determined by the Syahrul family.

"The witness was also confirmed regarding the procurement project at the Ministry of Agriculture which allegedly involved the family of the suspect SYL as the party who participated in determining the one-sided contractor that was won," said Ali.

In addition, Ali said Dhirgarya was also asked to explain about Syahrul's assets. There are allegations that the purchase was made using the proceeds of corruption that is being handled by the anti-corruption commission.

"Witnesses were present and their knowledge was explored, among others, related to the alleged ownership of various assets of economic value from the suspect SYL," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK suspected that Syahrul had blackmailed his employees by requiring to pay monthly deposits with the help of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta. The nominal that is pegged and must be deposited by echelon I-II employees is around 4,000-10,000 US dollars.

It is believed that the money collected does not only come from the realization of the Ministry of Agriculture's budget inflated or mark-ups but from vendors working on projects. The money is given in cash, transfers or goods.
