Ganjar Again Promises To Remove Credit Congested, This Time It's Fishermen's Turn

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate (candidate) number three, Ganjar Pranowo promised to write off bad credit for fishermen. The value is said to reach Rp190 billion.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when launching the Fishermen's Traffic Credit Abolition Program at the Karanganyar Fish Auction Place (TPI), Rembang Regency, Central Java, Thursday, January 4. He previously had the same promise for farmers when campaigning.

"About Rp190 billion if I'm not mistaken, (can it, ed) be even smaller. Because the number (of fishermen, ed) is 2.2 million people," said Ganjar, quoted from his written statement.

Ganjar said these fishermen were in arrears in paying people's business loans (KUR) for many reasons. Among them are technical work problems to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He found out about it after meeting the fishermen. And now the conditions are very difficult if we look at the technical conditions like that, there is a problem. So we will remove the bad credit so that they can rise again," he said.

Ganjar said this amount was smaller than farmers' bad loans of Rp600 billion. However, assistance will be provided if he is later elected with Mahfud MD through bleaching.

"So we help. Because it turns out that there are other problems (making, red) their business is not very smooth. For example, the limited diesel quota for ship fuel is limited," said the former Governor of Central Java.

In addition, the fishermen's credit payments were not smooth because of the sale and purchase pattern at the fish auction site (TPI). Ganjar said they only got results after a month of transactions.

That way, fishermen need access to capital to facilitate the circulation of money. "So that when they release the fish they can be bought immediately," concluded Ganjar.
