Garut Bawaslu Will Call Satpol PP Members Make Content Support Gibran

GARUT - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Garut Regency, West Java, is investigating the alleged case of non-neutral violations by a number of members of the Garut Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol) who made a video stating that they support the vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"We are conducting a search to find information," said Head of the Garut Regency Bawaslu Ahmad Nurul Syahid as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 3.

Bawaslu has received information that a number of people are known to be members of the Garut Regency Satpol PP who conveyed it openly through a video about support for the vice presidential candidate number 2.

The results of temporary observations in the video, he said, contained elements of alleged non-neutral violations of Garut Satpol PP members. It is known that the making of the video is also located at the government facility.

"The provisional conclusion is that there was a violation because it was wearing a full uniform and the location for making the video was also suspected to be a government facility," he said.

Bawaslu will immediately make a summons for clarification related to the non-neutral video of the Garut Satpol PP.

"Later it will also be followed up with a call in the video," he said.

The search carried out by the Garut Regency Bawaslu includes the truth of Garut Satpol PP members, then their employment status so that they are more certain in the application of the articles they violate.

"This is what we are currently investigating to determine the status so that later in the study the application of the article is more certain," he said.

Regarding the length of the case tracing, he said that based on the Garut Bawaslu rules, he had a maximum of 5 days.

"As soon as possible if the time in the rules is a maximum of 5 days for tracing," said Ahmad.

The Garut Satpol PP member case has now been handled by the leadership elements at the institution. Their status is neither ASN nor government employees with a work agreement (PPPK), but rather contract workers. However, they are still given sanctions for not serving and do not get a maximum salary of 3 months and a minimum of 1 month.

Meanwhile, a 19-second video showing a number of members of the Garut Satpol PP stated that they support the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran spread across a number of social media and WhatsApp Groups of the Garut community.

Garut Satpol PP has followed up and asked for information from the members regarding the making of a video of support for the vice president.
