JAKARTA - PLN Jakarta's Main Distribution Unit (UID) has prepared a four-layer electricity supply and electricity standby officers at the Cathedral Church and other churches in Jakarta during the 2023 Christmas celebration.

PLN's four layers of electricity supply come from three different subsystems and an additional 100 kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) unit is alerted at the Cathedral Church so that worship runs comfortably.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Lasiran, revealed that PLN is committed to providing reliable electricity supply throughout Nataru (Christmas and New Year).

"In this year's Christmas celebration, there are 234 churches that are under the supervision of PLN electricity, where the main monitoring points for Christmas celebrations are at the Cathedral Church and GPIB Imanuel," explained Lasiran.

Not only that, PLN UID Jakarta Raya has also prepared 17 other standby posts spread throughout the Jakarta work area. Then, the number of standby personnel was 2,148 people, consisting of 312 PLN employees, and 1,836 power transfer personnel (TAD).

Various standby supporting equipment has also been prepared. Call it a Car in Voltage Condition (PDKB), 48 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), nine Mobile Cable Units (UKB), 61 Mobile Substation Units (UGB), seven Mobile Diesel Units (UDS), eight crane units, 76 engineering service cars (Yantek), 85 Yantek motors, and spare parts for disturbances are available in sufficient quantities.

All equipment is confirmed to be ready for use at any time needed.

Currently, PLN UID Jakarta Raya has a power supply of 9,062 MW with a peak load of 5,800 MW. Thus, there is still a power reserve of 36 percent.

We have also been monitoring the trend of using Nataru electricity from year to year. We can confirm that with the current condition of electricity supply, it is very sufficient to support the needs of Jakarta residents during Nataru," concluded Lasiran.
