Traffic On The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Is Crowded, Contraflow Is Implemented This Morning

KARAWANG - The traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek road during the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays, Sunday, was quite congested so that officers returned to implementing contraflow.

VP Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Ria Marlinda Paalo, in a statement in Cikampek, Karawang Regency, West Java, Sunday, said that contraflow has been applied to police discretion since 8.20 WIB.

He said, this time the contraflow was applied one lane from KM 55 to KM 65 to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Cikampek. This is done to anticipate an increase in traffic volume.

Contraflow is a traffic control system that can change the normal direction of vehicle flow on toll roads. This traffic engineering system requires motorists through opposite lanes, to be carried out on police discretion.

Quoted from Antara, Contraflow is one of the officers' ways to overcome traffic congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Previously on Saturday (23/12), officers implemented contraflow from morning to night due to heavy traffic flow.

Ria said, during the Christmas and New Year holidays, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol also optimizes transaction services at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate by operating a total of 18 toll substations from normal conditions of 15 toll substations.

In addition, an additional 16 units of "mobile reader" were alerted to increase transaction capacity.

This is done to maintain traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road leading to the Cipali Toll Road so that it remains smooth during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded as many as 53 thousand vehicles leaving Jakarta via the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on Saturday (23/12) or D-2 Christmas.
