Polda Metro Reschedules Firli Bahuri's Examination Next Wednesday

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya again sent a letter of summons for the second examination of Firli Bahuri after being absent today. The inactive KPK chairman is scheduled to provide information as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, on Wednesday, December 27.

"It is stated that the second summons against the suspect (Firli Bahuri) is on Wednesday, December 27, 2023," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak in his statement, Thursday, December 21.

The plan is for the examination of Firli Bahuri to start at 10.00 WIB at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

Filri Bahuri was originally scheduled to undergo an examination today. However, he was absent on the grounds that there was a series of important activities, one of which provided information at the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas).

However, Firli Bahuri was not present at the examination at the KPK Council.

Previously, the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto stated that he would include a warrant to bring the second summons to Firli Bahuri.

"If it is considered that the first summons will be sent again today, we will fly over the second summons and prepare a warrant to bring it," said Karyoto.

Karyoto emphasized that if Firli Bahuri again does not fulfill the second summons, the investigator will issue an arrest warrant.

However, for now it has not been conveyed about the time of the second summons to the inactive KPK Chairman.

"If it is not heeded (second call) then we will definitely issue an arrest warrant," said Karyoto

Meanwhile, Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22. However, until now no detention has been made.

In this case, Firli Bahuri was charged with Article 12 e or Article 12 B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code.
