Adu Ideas For Vice Presidential Candidates, KPU Confirmed Debate Will Be Interactive

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) ensures that the debate format for the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) on Friday 22 December will not change. The format of the debate will be exactly the same as the inaugural presidential candidate (candidate) debate which consists of six segments with a duration of 150 minutes. KPU is optimistic that the debate between vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar, serial number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and serial number 3 Mahfud MD will be interactive. "The format is exactly the same, there is no change as happened in the first presidential candidate debate," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari, Monday 18 December. Like the first debate, the vice presidential debate will consist of six segments with details of the first segment being the presentation of the vision-emission, work program by each cawapres. The second and third segments are in-depth matter with questions from panelists read out by the moderators. Then, the fourth and fifth segments are the opportunities for each cawapres to ask questions to each other. The question was answered by each vice presidential candidate and was again responded by the vice president who asked. The sixth segment is the closing statement or the final statement as the conclusion of each of the vice presidential candidate on the debate theme. The vice presidential debate will last within 150 minutes with details of 120 minutes for debate and 30 minutes for advertising.

In addition to the debate format, the number of supporters of each presidential and vice-presidential candidate who are allowed to participate in the debate is also the same as the inaugural debate, which is 75 people. This vice presidential debate will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center starting at 19.00 WIB. This second debate raises economic-related themes (regional economy and digital economy), finance, tax investment, trade, APBN-APBD management, infrastructure, and urban areas. Debates will be guided by two moderators, Alfito Deannova Ginting and Liviana Cherlisa.
