SUMBAR - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD conveyed two messages to graduates of the Padang State University (UNP) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

"First, after leaving this building (tourists) you will enter the real laboratory, namely the life of the community itself," said Mahfud MD when delivering a scientific oration in Padang, Sunday, December 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

To the UNP graduates, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs reminded that every graduate should be careful when entering the community. Because, if it fails, it will affect the long-term life path.

He made an analogy at student colleges that failed in one course, so he could repeat itself in the next semester. However, it is different when it fails or is wrong in the midst of society, it is quite difficult to fix it.

The second message, he continued, was that the diploma was only proof that someone was an expert in certain fields. However, diplomas do not necessarily indicate that someone is an intellectual staff.

In front of the graduates, he again conveyed the words that Bung Hatta, the 2nd Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, talked about intelligence responsibilities. At that time, Bung Hatta said that undergraduates were not necessarily intellectual.

The reason is, undergraduates are informal skills while intellectuality is moral glory. Therefore, every graduate must be able to become an intelligence person, not only a scholar.

"The scarcity river can be used as a tool to deceive," said the Gadjah Mada University alumni.

For example, a legal expert such as lawyers, academics, judges, prosecutors and so on deliberately uses their expertise to deceive people. In other words, these legal articles cannot be traded.

"But, if you become an intellectual, what relies on the heart is moral," he said.
