Polda Metro Responds To Kubu Firli Bahuri Alluding To M Suryo's Security Behind The SYL Extortion Case: Sesat Assumption, Made Up

JAKARTA - The Legal Division (Bidkum) of the Polda Metro Jaya stated that Firli Bahuri's opinion regarding the determination of the suspect in the alleged extortion case was not purely law enforcement as a false argument. Polda considers this assumption as a driver of opinion.

In his replica, Firli Bahuri's camp stated that his determination as a suspect in the alleged extortion case related to the handling of legal problems at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) was not pure law enforcement. This is because it is suspected that there is a background between the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto to protect Muhammad Suryo in a corruption case handled by the KPK.

"Against the petitioner's argument, the respondent does not need to respond. Because the petitioner's argument has never been conveyed in the previous petition, so it is very biased and there is no relevance at all with the determination of the applicant as a suspect," said one member of the Jakarta Metro Police Bidkum team during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, December 13.

The arguments from Firli Bahuri's camp are also considered as an effort to obscure the main purpose of the pretrial, which in fact tests the administrative process in handling criminal cases.

The appearance of the argument was considered by the Polda Metro Jaya team as a form of panic for Firli Bahuri.

"The petitioner's argument is a misleading assumption and makes it up to the applicant. As an effort to lead opinions and obscure the purpose of the pretrial as a form of panic for the applicant and the petitioner's efforts to avoid legal responsibility due to the act of extortion," he said.

On that basis, the panel of judges who handled and tried the lawsuit was asked to reject the argument from Firli Bahuri's camp.

"Thus, the argument must be declared rejected," he said.

Muhammad Suryo is a Commissioner of PT Surya Karya Setiabudi (SKS). He is suspected of receiving a sleep fee of Rp9.5 billion from a promise of Rp11 billion.

This was revealed in the indictment of the former Head of the Class 1 Railway Engineering Center for the Central Java (Central Java) region, Putu Sumarjaya.

Sleeping fee is the provision of a sum of money from the auction participants which is won to the losers as a habit in organizing project auctions.
