The first debate between the presidential candidate pair and the vice presidential candidate at the Indonesian KPU Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, was conducive on Tuesday, December 12, evening.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said the situation and conditions at the KPU and its surroundings were safe, even from supporters of every candidate pair (paslon) who attended the first presidential candidate debate in 2024 at the Indonesian KPU Office.

"The current situation is safe, because this is the regulation of the KPU," said Susatyo when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, December 12.

The silence of supporters of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs outside the Indonesian KPU Office is because the Indonesian KPU has added rations for supporters of each candidate pair (paslon) to attend directly at the inaugural debate location for the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections (Pilpres).

Initially, the KPU only provided 50 seats for supporters of each candidate, but after recalculating the election organizers, the quota increased to 75 supporting seats per candidate.

In addition, the traffic situation around the Indonesian KPU Office was also monitored to be safe and smooth.

Therefore, in order to maintain the smooth running together until the inaugural debate for the 2024 presidential candidate is over, Kombes Susatyo appealed to the public to find other alternative ways.

"To avoid roads around the KPU (to remain safe)," he said.

The section of Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta began to close at 19.00 WIB ahead of the inaugural debate of the 2024 Presidential Candidate (Capres) at the Indonesian KPU Office.

"For the sake of mutual comfort, as well as security during the debate event," he said.

As of 20.52 WIB, the two sections of Jalan Imam Bonjol are still closed for the smooth running of the 2024 presidential candidate inaugural debate. Vehicles passing through the area around the Indonesian KPU look smooth and control-safe.

A number of security personnel ranging from the ranks of the police, TNI, Polri, and internal security from the Indonesian KPU are still on guard at a number of points at the Indonesian KPU Office. Joint personnel are scattered in a number of vulnerable points.

The debate was followed by three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, serial number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and serial number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
