JAKARTA - A toddler with the initials HZ aged 3 years was tortured and abused by a man who is also the girlfriend of the victim's aunt.

As a result of the abuse, the victim HZ suffered bruises, broken necks and burns due to cigarette burns.

The incident of mistreatment of a poor toddler took place in a rented house located on Jalan Kecubung, Batu Ampar Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta.

Until this news was written, victim HZ was still undergoing intensive treatment in the Picu room of the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

The act of persecution and torture was also recorded by the victim's biological aunt's cellphone. Based on the recording in the video, the victim was caught being slammed, checking and slowed down by a cigarette by the perpetrator.

The head of the local RT, M Sapri (51), said that the perpetrator's torture of the victim began with the results of reports from the Kramat Jati Police Hospital.

The National Police Hospital suspects bruises, cigarette burns on several parts of the victim's body.

"I know because I was summoned to the Resort Police, I found out that it was not too certain. His son was taken to the Police Hospital, maybe he had just been found out there. If the Police had a domestic violence incident on the child," Sapri told reporters, Sunday, December 10.

The victim is the child of a parent who is working abroad. Victim HZ was entrusted to his 17-year-old aunt.

However, the victim's aunt lives with her boyfriend in an boarding house even though she is not married.

"From the confession that he has a rented house, he lives there for 2 months from November to December. There are no reports (of new contractors) to me living there," he said.

Sapri said that many contractors and rented owners in a number of places in their area did not provide reports against him regarding the existence of new residents.

Meanwhile, the case was handled by the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police.
