Ganjar Wants IKN Development To Involve Indigenous Peoples

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo said the construction of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) must involve the local community so that the existence of the new capital city does not erode indigenous culture and society.

"This process is quite long, so they must involve them (local residents and indigenous residents)," said Ganjar at the IKN View Tower, East Kalimantan, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 7.

The involvement of local communities, said Ganjar, must also be carried out in the long term and they must get easy access to education and health.

"So earlier I asked that 30 percent of local residents work here. They must be involved and given access to education so that later they will become hosts here. So that they are equal to others and the rest give affirmation," he said.

According to Ganjar, IKN is a new future and hope for the younger generation. IKN will become the center of a green economy and a digital economy that presents many new jobs and business opportunities.

"IKN is a story of Indonesia's future, a story of modernity, a story of the progress of civilization, a story of participation, a story of a green economy, a creative industry, a digital industry and the future of children. So this is Indonesia's transformation which is manifested in one area," said Ganjar, who is currently in IKN in the context of the 2024 presidential election campaign.
