Mahfud Reminds Community Education Students To Choose Paslon Offer Ideas Not Just Gimics

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD reminded students to play a role in helping educate the public to choose candidates for presidential candidates who offer ideas more than just games.

This was conveyed by Mahfud when answering student questions at the event "Private Generation Public Discussion Votes: Realize The 2024 Election Without Golput" which was broadcast online, Thursday, December 7.

"In fact, it is the duty of intelligence brothers on campus to tell the public how to choose a good leader," said Mahfud, who was present virtually, was confiscated by Antara.

He did not deny that the issue of political games has become a discussion of many people. The issue of debate is whether it is natural that the campaign only prioritizes political games or a campaign with a depth of substance is needed to bring the country more advanced in the future.

Mahfud said that students and the public could actually assess the urgency of the substance and political gimmick. What is more important is that people use their right to vote by considering the assessment of the vision, mission, and ideas offered by potential leaders.

"Whether the game represents your interests or not, whether behind the game there is something big to fight for, you can judge for yourself, the most important thing is that you choose by first giving an assessment," said Mahfud.

On the same occasion, Mahfud reminded young voters not to become white (golput) in the 2024 election because one vote has great benefits for the future of the nation.

Mahfud advised the public to select candidates for leaders selectively, especially not to be carried away by currents or euphoria for a moment. He also asked the entire academic community to take an active role in the success of holding the 2024 General Election.

"Students as potential owners must be able to become agents of change, so that the younger generation is not easily influenced by fake news circulating on social media and aims to undermine the spirit of unity and cause fear and panic in the midst of society," he said.
