Jokowi Receives Input Regarding The Governor Of DKJ Appointed By The President

Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana said the government was open to various inputs on the Draft Law (RUU) for the Special Region of Jakarta (DKJ), including the President's authority to directly appoint regional heads in Jakarta.

"It should be noted that the Jakarta Special Region Bill is a DPR initiative bill," he said in Jakarta, quoted by ANTARA Wednesday, December 6.

Currently, said Ari, the government is still waiting for an official letter from the DPR conveying the script for the DKJ Bill. After that, the President will appoint a number of ministers to prepare the government version of the Inventory Problem (DIM) List.

He said the government was open to input from various parties in the context of drafting the DIM.

"The next process, the President wrote to the DPR to appoint a number of ministers representing the government in discussions with the DPR, accompanied by the DIM Government," he said.

DKI Jakarta will change its name to DKJ after its status as the capital city of the state has been officially transferred to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), as stated in Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN.

Referring to the law, Jakarta's status will change from what was previously a Special Capital Region to a Special Region for Jakarta.

The DKJ Bill carries the concept of the Special Region of Jakarta to become the global city and the largest economic center in Indonesia. There are many aspects of state finances that need to be regulated in the DKJ Bill.

Article 41 of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the State Capital mandates legal amendments related to Jakarta as the capital city of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Without adequate regulations, Jakarta will be equated with other regions in Indonesia or apply Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government.

Article 10 paragraph 2 of the RRU DKJ draft states that the governor and deputy governor are appointed, appointed, and dismissed by the president by taking into account the DPRD's proposal or opinion.
