Public Reports On Kaesang Allegedly Receiving Gratification Of Jet Facilities Still Being Worked On By The KPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that public reports related to the alleged receipt of gratuities by Kaesang Pangarep in the form of private jet facilities were continuously being studied.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, when asked about a report related to Kaesang which was submitted to the Directorate of Public Reports and Complaints (PLPM). This report is different from the one that has been worked on by the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK.

"I conveyed yesterday that the gratification, reporting and also determining the deputy for prevention that had been submitted to the leadership," Ghufron told reporters quoted on Wednesday, November 6.

Meanwhile, allegations of corruption reported to PLPM are still being worked on. "What status is it, it is still in the process of being investigated," he said.

"(So, red) what we convey is the determination as a gratification of the deputy for prevention and monitoring," continued Ghufron.

Ghufron then explained that the deputy for prevention and monitoring decided that Kaesang's report regarding the use of private jets could not be followed up for several reasons. First, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) is not a state administrator when receiving a ride to the United States.

In addition, Kaesang has also been separated from his parents, namely President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his brother, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who once served as Mayor of Solo. "The family's relationship was stopped and cut off when they were adults," said Ghufron.

He said this condition was different from the former official of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Rafael Alun Trisambodo with his son, Mario Dandy. "He is still a child. His property is his parents' property," explained Ghufron.

As previously reported, the General Chairperson of PSI who is also the son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Kaesang Pangarep, had conveyed to the KPK about the use of the private jet facilities he used when pledir to the United States with his wife, Erina Gudono on Tuesday, September 17. He claims that he took a plane belonging to his friend.

"I conveyed information about my trip to the US who was riding or accompanying a friend of mine," Kaesang told reporters at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.

Regarding this report, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that the follow-up cannot be carried out by his institution. Kaesang was declared not to have received gratuities because he was not a state administrator.

Kaesang is also said to have no more direct relationship with his family, namely President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as his brother who also served as Mayor of Solo. This decision was taken after the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK sent an official memorandum to the leadership.
