JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff, (KSP) Moeldoko is optimistic that Indonesia can become a strategic partner for South Korea. Currently, the Ginseng Country ranks 7th as the largest investor in Indonesia in 2022, with a total investment of 2.23 billion USD, up 40.06% compared to the previous year.

Moeldoko hopes that in the next two years, South Korea can rank 5th in investment realization in Indonesia.

"Why do I dare to make sure it is ranked 5th? Because currently Indonesia has improved seriously in supporting the investment climate," said Moeldoko at the Korea-Indonesia Cooperation Forum in Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations, at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, Thursday 30 November.

Furthermore, Moeldoko said that there were five investments that were fixed during the administration of President Joko Widodo.

This includes human resources, infrastructure development, bureaucratic reform, improvement of 24 regulations in the business world, and transformation of the digital economy.

The collaboration in the creative and digital economy sector between Indonesia and South Korea continues to be improved, including innovating solutions that have a positive impact on the two countries.

Specifically, the cooperation carried out by the two countries includes the establishment of a digital trading information exchange system to protect Intellectual Property Rights in the digital era, digital trading facilities, to digital start-ups.

In terms of the Government's commitment, said Moeldoko, the ecosystem supporting the digital economy in Indonesia continues to develop. In this context, the government has prepared a guideline for the development of the digital economy in 2021-2030 in realizing a vision to become a digital economy force that encourages inclusive, connected, and sustainable economic growth.

This effort, continued Moeldoko, is the Government's support for the advancement of the digital industry in order to create a conducive business climate. "We do it to get to a green economy," he said.

In addition to investment, continued Moeldoko, collaboration between Indonesia and South Korea continues to be developed in other fields including agriculture. Moeldoko said that during his visit to the South Korea National Assembly on November 27, he attempted to build harmonization of food states or food barns.

"Because this matter (food state) has become a world affair," he concluded.
