Israeli Military Sieges Indonesian Hospital In Gaza And Orders Evacuation

JAKARTA - The Israeli military carried out a siege of the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, ordering immediate evacuation of those inside, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Friday.

Shots were reported to have occurred around hospitals, where hundreds of vulnerable civilians, including children, women, patients, and medical staff, were still stuck.

The WAFA correspondent confirmed that Israeli troops continued to fire around the hospital while ordering the forced transfer of those inside, as quoted January 3.

Meanwhile, medical sources revealed hospital oxygen and electricity stations had been destroyed, leaving the facility unable to provide essential medical services. Supplies have run out, putting the lives of injured patients and individuals in direct danger.

Previously, Indonesian hospitals had been overwhelmed with patients being transferred from Kamal Adwan Hospital, which was burned and destroyed by Israeli forces.

Kamal Adwan Hospital, one of the largest health care facilities in the region, served more than 400,000 residents before being surrounded, forcibly evacuated and fired.

Medical staff and journalists were also forcibly transferred, while hospital director Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, was detained in the attack.

In addition to targeting hospitals, Israeli forces also leveled the surrounding area, systematically dismantling infrastructure, erasing all the similarities in normal life in the region.

This latest incident is part of a broader pattern of Israel's ethnic cleansing campaign in northern Gaza.

Last October, Israeli forces launched a large-scale offensive, blocking shipments of essential supplies such as food, water and medicine, while targeting hospitals and health care centers.

Separately, human rights groups and international organizations have condemned Israel's actions, citing violations of international humanitarian law and Geneva Conventions that protected medical facilities and civilians during the conflict.
